Krystal Zahara
As the Co-Founder and Chair of ACCHS since its establishment in 2020, Krystal has demonstrated unwavering dedication and passion in the pursuit of providing accessible and affordable housing solutions. Firmly believing in the fundamental right to housing, Krystal is committed to the principle that everyone deserves a safe and affordable place to live.
A driving force behind Krystal's approach is the belief in meeting people where they are, recognizing the unique challenges individuals face. This commitment extends to fostering meaningful connections through relationship building, emphasizing trust, compassion, and empathy as cornerstones in the quest to address housing insecurities.

Courtney Lantz
Courtney is the Vice Chair for ACCHS and has been on the board of directors since 2021. Courtney has been part of the Athabasca community for 10 years and decided to join ACCHS as a way to give back to the community. Courtney is passionate about making Athabasca a better, more welcoming place for all and believes that housing is a crucial first step.

Melanie Erickson
Hi I'm MELANIE ERICKSON, a grandmother, mother and wife and an avid believer in strong communities through collaboration. I am a recent newcomer to Athabasca and have found many wonderful reasons to be involved in various organizations.As a board member of Athabasca Cares Housing Society my focus is awareness and progressive change and movement within the systems . Everyones story deserves attention and possible, positive outcomes

Lee Deren
Lee joined ACCHS in 2023 and is passionate about supporting the vision and mission of our organization. Lee leads grant and fundraising initatives to support ongoing sustainability of our programs.

Judy Hemmons
Judy started out as a dedicated volunteer at the overnight shelter for ACCHS. In 2024, she transitioned from shelter volunteer to Vice Chair for ACCHS.

Otto Rottier
Otto is a board director with ACCHS, Otto moved to Athabasca recently and joined the board spring of 2024 with a strong desire to see everyone have a place to call home through a hand up not hand out

Kate Nunn
Kate is a lawyer with a commitment to social justice and equality. As well as being an ACCHS board member, Kate operates a bi-weekly legal clinic out of the shelter. Kate hopes to make a positive impact in the lives of unhoused and vulnerable individuals in Athabasca, particularly in the areas of access to basic rights and access to justice.

Simone Fisher
Simone brings a wealth of experience in strategic leadership, program management, and community development. With her extensive background in organizations like the Calgary Beacon for Minorities, Antyx Community Arts Society, and Calgary Drop-In & Rehabilitation Centre, Simone is deeply committed to fostering inclusive and impactful community initiatives.
