Chelsea Kirby
Chelsea is currently employed as an AISH Generalist. She enjoys spending her free time camping on the riverfront at the river lot and floating down the beautiful Athabasca River. She is passionate about advocating for those in need and has been a volunteer firefighter for the last 5 years. She re-joined the Board in December 2024 and is an assured advisor within the community.

Otto Rottier
Otto is the Vice-President, Chair with ACCHS, Otto moved to Athabasca recently and joined the board spring of 2024 with a strong desire to see everyone have a place to call home through a hand up not hand out

Melanie Erickson
Hi I'm MELANIE ERICKSON, a grandmother, mother and wife and an avid believer in strong communities through collaboration. I am a recent newcomer to Athabasca and have found many wonderful reasons to be involved in various organizations.As a board member of Athabasca Cares Housing Society my focus is awareness and progressive change and movement within the systems . Everyones story deserves attention and possible, positive outcomes

Judy Hemmons
Judy started out as a dedicated volunteer at the overnight shelter for ACCHS. In 2024, she transitioned from shelter volunteer to Vice Chair for ACCHS.

Darcie Cardinal
Throughout Darcie's career, She has worked extensively with underserved communities, including supporting individuals experiencing homelessness in Prince George, where many became lifelong friends. She has also had the privilege of engaging in missionary work in Africa, providing food to internally displaced persons (IDP) camps and supporting an orphanage in Kampala.

She is honored to serve on the Board of Athabasca Cares Community Housing Society, and will remain dedicated to fostering positive change and providing support to those in need.

Kelly Doig
Kelly's passion has always been rooted in advocacy and empowerment. With a diverse background spanning the legal sector, industrial and environmental services, and work within the provincial government under the Ministry of Child and Family Services. When she is not advocating for others, you can usually find her outdoors with her family or at home on her farm, tending to their 24 chickens—a peaceful balance. She truly believes that every person has value, no matter their circumstances.

Simone Fisher
Simone brings a wealth of experience in strategic leadership, program management, and community development. With her extensive background in organizations like the Calgary Beacon for Minorities, Antyx Community Arts Society, and Calgary Drop-In & Rehabilitation Centre, Simone is deeply committed to fostering inclusive and impactful community initiatives.
